Ravens Community Connection!

Our grade 6 Ravens were visited by Local Municipality Councillor Chris Thiessen yesterday as a community connection for grade 6 social studies. Topics explored were how to become a member of council and the voting process.

Councillor Chris Thiessen opened up the room to Q & A and our students were interested in taxes, city services, daily job duties, and how to get involved at a young age.

Based on their presentation from Councillor Chris Thiessen, our grade 6s wanted to give back to the community, specifically, their school community and provide a service of leadership and a jumpstart on spring clean-up.
